✨ Term 3 Kids Yoga at Tamworth Yoga✨
This 10-week offering is all about joy, connection, and giving little ones space to move, breathe, and play — with their grown-ups close by.
What Makes This Special
These sessions are guided but open — a space where children are invited to move, feel, and explore in their own way. There’s no ‘right’ way to do yoga here. Some children might lie on their mats quietly, others might roar like a lion — both are learning. Yoga supports emotional and physical development uniquely for each child. We create space for big feelings to rise and pass, for movement to meet emotion, and for co-regulation with trusted adults. Children aren’t expected to ‘perform’ yoga — they’re supported to experience it safely and joyfully.
Research shows that mindfulness and movement practices like yoga can improve self-regulation, reduce anxiety, and support sensory integration — especially in these early, formative years. (CDC on Early Childhood Development, Harvard Center on the Developing Child)
Whether your child joins in with every pose or quietly watches from the side, they are welcome here. This is a low-pressure, inclusive, and accessible space that values curiosity, exploration, and meeting each child just as they are.
With a small group size and parents nearby, this weekly ritual encourages:
Body awareness and coordination
Emotional literacy and self-regulation
Social confidence and connection with peers
Imaginative play and creativity
Over the 10 weeks, kids may start to make friends, as it’s the same group each week.
Mon's focus is always to meet each child where they are — gently, joyfully, and without pressure.
Practical Notes:
No need to bring anything, and you can take your shoes and socks off! Yay!
The studio is kept cozy and there are toilets.
There is no room for prams though, so please bring babes in arms or carriers as there is a bit of a steep set of stairs on entry.
No fancy yoga clothes needed — just whatever feels good for your child and you. Fair warning: your babe might have their butts in the air (aka downward facing puppies), so something they can comfortably move in.
Mats, props, etc. are provided.
We offer rolling membership into the next semester with priority given to returning kids and their siblings to help build consistency.
✨ FAQs✨
❓Can I join in?
Absolutely! Together is always better. In the toddler class, trusted adults gently guide their little ones alongside me. In the preschoolers’ (ages 3–5) class, kids still love having their big people join in. It’s a beautiful way to deepen your connection and learn some fun yoga shapes and games to try together at home.
❓What happens if my kid doesn’t like it?
No worries at all. It can take a few weeks to settle in and build that connection. If it’s not the right fit, I’m more than happy to refund the remaining sessions—whatever works best for you and your child.
❓What if my kid just stands and stares the whole time?
Totally normal—and totally fine! They’re still learning in their own way. My own kids did the same—watching quietly, taking it all in, and then suddenly doing the poses at home. It’s all learning, and it’s all good.
❓Can I bring my baby too?
Yes, please! It’s a family-friendly vibe, so baby siblings are very welcome. Whether they’re in a carrier or crawling around, no worries—the more the merrier.
❓What if my child is shy, energetic, or doesn’t like following instructions?
That’s all welcome here! Every child brings their own unique energy and way of engaging. Some dive right in, others prefer to observe, and some bounce around the edges. There's no one "right" way to do kids yoga—it’s all about play, connection, and creating a safe space to explore movement in their own time.
